Blog Hop: Women Writing

If you have been following this blog hop then you have probably noticed that many of the other women participating in it start off by saying how much they loved to read and write when they were younger. Well I want to say that I didn’t. I hated books, I hated writing, I hated all things to do with learning as a child. If you had told me then that I would grow up and become a blogger/writer. I would have laughed in your face (or maybe yelled) and told you that I would never, ever do that!

Yet here I am today reading and writing with a voracious thirst for knowledge. I have spent the better part of the last three years of my life going to college and studying my other interests and passions in my free time. You’ll generally find me with my nose in a book or a medical study, that is when I am not busy taking care of my wonderful little twins or my vast array of animals.

Through all of my research and study I have learned so many different tips, tricks, and recipes for natural living, that I want to share. So I created this blog to hopefully pass on some of the knowledge I have gained to others.

What Am I Working On/Writing?

I am mostly working on this blog. Focusing on natural skincare, living, and baby raising. Although some of my recipes might be being compiled into a book, that may one day be for sale. For right now though my main focus is this blog so that I can help spread my passion for natural organic living in all aspects of life.

How Does My Work Differ From Other Writers in My Genre?

I find that many of the other people writing in my genre are very similar but we each have our own twist on how we view things. I base most of my posts and recipes off of scientific research and medical studies. Before writing a post or making a recipe there is generally 40+ hours of research and self testing before I put it up online for ya’ll to see.

Why Do I Write What I Do?

I have always had a passion for skin and hair care. As a young kid I was involved in the drama program in my school. I was usually in charge of makeup, hair, and costumes and absolutely loved every minute of it. Another huge influence on what I write is my mother. She is a chiropractor, so I was exposed to a natural more holistic way of life. As I got older I really began to look at what I was putting in and on my body and how toxic it was. I knew I had to make a change but it was so hard to find good organic skin care products. So I began to play around with recipes and making my own products which was the start of this blog.

How Does My Writing Process Work?

There is lots of research involved. I usually write 5-6 whole posts on the same topic then take out chunks that I like and piece it all together. Then I lay in bed at night and re-write the post in my head scrap all the work I just did and put that down instead. I really think I do all my best thinking and writing at night. Sometimes I will wake up at 2 in the morning with a great post idea or recipe and spend the next 3 hours working on it.

Next Weeks Blog Hopper:

As of right now there is no one. As soon as someone says they are able to  I will put them up!
